Our Energy

The Heart of England Enterprise Park gives rise to the possibility of several forms of locally producable energy to be developed and used locally or even fed back into the grid.

For our own use these energy formats are available:

Solar on all building roofs. As buildings will be constructed on an east/west axis maximum benefit will be derived from available sunlight.

Ground Scource Heating. This is available all over the site. Air source heating is far less efficient.

Wind Turbines. Again these can be fitted to buildings throughout the Park.

Methane Digesters. Methane is a gas that occurs naturally. It is a valuable resource when burned where it is produced, but has to be chilled and/or compressed at 3000psi before becoming a liquid, whereas propane liquifies at about a tenth of that compression. So it is hard to move Methane but easy to burn it where is it produced. The result of that burn is Co2 and water, with less Co2 produced than with any other fossil fuel. Furthermore the resultant slurry has no smell and is one of the most potent organic fertilisers available.

Thus not only can the Park produce its own energy but is a testing platform for companies looking to develop and manufacture control and monitoring equipment central to, and associated with, all forms of energy production and control from locally produced methane..
